About initile

Ezio immigrated in 1961from Italy passing through Ellis Island. Forced to quit school in the third-grade to work on the farm- due to economic conditions- he entered the New World with nothing but pear in hand. With an eagerness in his belly, Virgilio mentored the young-apprentice, his nephew, at the craft of tile and stone installation.

This apprentice would one-day become the instructor for his son, Roberto, working for Mike ("Little Mike") Chirco of MJC Homes, and other projects. Following, Roberto also trained formally in the AFL-CIO International Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local #32- for companies such as National Tile and Ferndale Tile. His portfolio includes tile and stone installation at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, Birmingham City Hall, Troy Police Department, all of the Big Three, Sears, Hudson's and many more projects.

He created initile to bring the high-quality craftsmanship found on these projects to homeowners- and builder's alike- for a reasonable price.
